Oh no! It's Christmas again

Has anyone noticed that the Christmas ads on TV are getting earlier and earlier? Since the beginning of October children's channels are showing more ads encouraging kids to dream about ownership of toys that could be beyond the pocket of their parents.
You could say this is good marketing but is dealing in false promises really ethical? We ban cigarette ads because they may encourage people to smoke, well why not ban toy ads in case they encourage people to steal in an effort to fulfil their children's needs.
I always used to think it funny when I went to the Philippines and saw the Christmas decorations up in October. It's not so funny now that is is happening here! Don't get me wrong, I am not a Scrooge type and I do enjoy Christmas, but only in December please.
